What is in a date?

Dates are ancient trees. They have a special status in the Middle East and the 3 main religions in the area i e Islam,Christianity and Judaism.They are the symbol of deserts and go hand in hand with camels pictures hat depict the Sahara and sand dunes. But dates are nutritious fruits and very rich in nutrients,minerals and vitamins.
Date palms have deep roots in Iraq but they spread from there to North Africa, Southwest Asia the Middle East and during the last century to the U. S(Arizona and California) and Mexico. As of varieties there are over 30 varieties that have economic value and widespread cultivation throughout the Middle East and Southwestern USA.
Due to their content of sugar they are considered a good source of energy plus calcium,phosphorus,iron,potassium,zinc and magnesium.
Dates are rich in Vitamins mainly B1,B2,B3 and B5. They are also rich in vitamin C and A1.
The sugars in dates are found in the form of sucrose,fructose and glucose.
Many claim that dates are good for strong bones and that may be attributed to their content of magnesium,manganese,copper,selenium and calcium that could prevent osteoporosis.
Dates contain fluorine for healthy teeth and iron that is good for patients with anemia that causes fatigue or chest…
